ARISE LUNCHEON OCT 7, 2023

Kalyn McAlester was raised in a strong Christian home, that grounded and rooted in her life in the Word. Her parents, both evangelists and musicians, helped guide and instill the understanding of true authenticity in worship. She graduated from Dallas Baptist University where she received a degree in education and a minor in vocal performance.

She met Troy and they married in 2002. He moved her from the big city to the country and they created their sweet life together. A musician and a farmer, with very different personalities, God began using them in Sunday School and church together. They have celebrated 20 years of marriage and love the Lord and each other deeply.

Kaylyn has been a teacher in the classroom for 17 years.  Working as an Instructional Coach at Sherman High for 3 years after completing her masters degree, she met with every teacher each week and loved infiltrating their lives with God’s love.

She then served as an Assistant Principal at Crutchfield in Sherman where she used her sign language as Crutchfield is the Regional Day School for the Deaf. In 2019, she began pursuing her doctorate in higher education to help reach administrators in schools to help influence them in a positive way. After serving for three years as Director of Worship for New Heritage Baptist Church in Sherman, she is now traveling and singing for the Lord.

Kaylyn  is a dynamic singer, songwriter and musician who has written worship songs that are copyrighted with the U.S. Library of Congress.

She now serves as Coordinator of Fine Arts for Sherman ISD where she  facilitates appreciation of the fine arts for every Sherman student PreK through 12th grade.  God is using her discreetly in the public sector!

Kalyn has had heartbreak and dark times in her life as life circumstances and deep wounds left her devastated.  Out of that dark time, she learned to overcome through worship!  .
